Tools

What your assistant can do with Resumondo. It writes the content; these tools save it, design it and make the PDF.

Your assistant picks the right tool on its own when you ask for something. You don't need to name them, but it helps to know what's possible.

These tools never write or rewrite text. Everything in your documents comes from your assistant, based on what you tell it, so check what it wrote before you send it out.

get_profile#

Your name and email, so your assistant can address you and fill in your contact details. Works on every plan. No parameters.

idstring
Your account id.
namestring
Your name, if you've set one.
emailstring
Your email.

list_resumes#

Lists your saved resumes, so your assistant can pick the one you mean. No parameters.

resumesarray
Each with its id, title, template, updated_at and editor_url.

get_resume#

One resume's full content, in the same format create_resume takes. Your assistant reads it to improve or tailor it, then saves the result as a new version or replaces the old one.

Parameters#

resume_idstringrequired
The id from list_resumes.

Returns#

resumeobject
The content. See the resume object.
template, colorstring
Its current design.
editor_urlstring
Where to edit it.

list_templates#

The resume designs and accent colors, so you can choose a look. No parameters.

templatesarray
Each with a name to pass when saving, a label, a short description, its layout (single or two columns), and whether it supports colors and a matching cover letter.
colorsarray
Each with a name and its hex value.

create_resume#

Saves a new resume your assistant wrote, lays it out in a template and makes the PDF. It always adds a separate resume, like a version for one job, and never changes an existing one.

Parameters#

resumeobjectrequired
The content. See the resume object. Empty contact details are filled from your profile.
templatestring
A template name from list_templates. Leave it out for a good default, or to keep the current design when updating.
colorstring
An accent color from list_templates, for templates that have one.

Returns#

resume_idstring
The resume's id, for updating it later.
status"created" | "updated"
What happened.
editor_urlstring
Where you can edit, restyle and download it in Resumondo.
pdf_urlstring | null
A PDF download link, valid for 7 days. Null if the PDF couldn't be made right then; it's always available from the editor.

update_resume#

Replaces a saved resume with the complete new version your assistant sends. Anything left out is removed, so your assistant reads it with get_resume first and sends back the whole resume. It keeps its design unless you ask for a new one.

Parameters#

resume_idstringrequired
The resume to replace.
resumeobjectrequired
The complete new content.
templatestring
A template name from list_templates. Leave it out for a good default, or to keep the current design when updating.
colorstring
An accent color from list_templates, for templates that have one.

Returns#

resume_idstring
The resume's id, for updating it later.
status"created" | "updated"
What happened.
editor_urlstring
Where you can edit, restyle and download it in Resumondo.
pdf_urlstring | null
A PDF download link, valid for 7 days. Null if the PDF couldn't be made right then; it's always available from the editor.

create_cover_letter#

Saves a new cover letter and makes its PDF. With a resume_id, it takes your contact details and design from that resume, so the two match.

Parameters#

textstringrequired
The whole letter in plain text: the greeting, paragraphs separated by blank lines, and the closing with your name. Up to 15,000 characters.
titlestring
A short document title, like “Cover letter - Acme - Product Manager”.
companystring
The company the letter is for.
rolestring
The job you're applying for.
hiring_manager_namestring
Who it's addressed to, if known.
languagestring
The letter's language, like en or de.

status"created" | "updated"

editor_urlstring
Where you can edit, restyle and download it in Resumondo.
pdf_urlstring | null
A PDF download link, valid for 7 days. Null if the PDF couldn't be made right then; it's always available from the editor.

Limits#

To keep Resumondo fast for everyone, each account has a few limits. Normal use, even tailoring a resume to several jobs in a row, stays well under them.

What countsLimit
Saves: create_resume, update_resume, create_cover_letter and update_cover_letter. Each one makes a PDF.20 per 10 minutes
Every request your assistant sends, reads included.120 a minute

Over the save limit, nothing is saved and the tool returns an error that says when to try again. Your assistant passes that on, and you can ask again after that. Over the request limit, the server answers with HTTP 429 and a Retry-After header in seconds.

Building your own client? Sign-in has limits per IP address: 60 per 10 minutes for client registration, and 30 a minute for rejected token requests. Successful token requests and refreshes don't count. Both answer 429 with Retry-After.

The resume object#

The format create_resume and update_resume take and get_resume returns. Unknown fields are empty strings or empty lists, and dates are YYYY-MM, or just YYYY when only the year is known.
