How should I use a resume example?
As a guide, not a copy. Look at how the example is ordered, which results it puts first and the words it uses for the job, then write your own resume the same way with your real experience and numbers. Recruiters notice copied lines, and interviewers will ask about everything on the page.
Will these resumes get through an applicant tracking system?
Each example is drawn in one of our templates, and every template is tested with ATS parsers: we fill it with a full resume, export the PDF and read the text back the way a tracking system does. Before you apply, run your own file through the ATS resume checker to see what a tracking system reads.
How long should my resume be?
One page for most people with up to about seven years of experience, and two pages for senior roles with a longer track record. Teachers, nurses and other licensed roles can run to two pages when certifications and clinical or classroom experience need the room.
What if my job isn't listed?
Pick the closest example and keep its structure: a short summary, results in every bullet and the skills from the job posting. The resume expert can also talk your experience through with you and write a resume for the role you're after, whatever it is.
